What is Athayoga?

    Athayoga is yoga of the 5 elements! It is a modern yoga style that is deeply rooted in the original yogic concept of the 5 elements. Every yoga practice, no matter if it is physical postures, breathing techniques or meditation, aims at harmonizing the energies of the 5 elements within the human system.

The 5 elements are earth, water, fire, air and space. They represent different qualities such as tranquility/being present, surrender/letting go, (will) power/strength, lightness/(loving) connection and transcendence of limitations.

    Every yoga pose (asana) invites you to connect physically, psychologically and energetically with the quality of at least 1 element. Understanding the inherent quality of the pose, you can make use of the practice of yoga to balance yourself and bring complete harmony to your system.

    Athayoga is a tool. If you understand, how to use it well, you will build a stable fundament in body, mind and energy that will carry you safely through all the challenges in life.
