Atha Yoga and hiking

Start your day with yoga and head out into nature right after a delicious brunch! Experience local scenery and its beauty with all senses and fill up your body with new energy, while walking through protected pine forests or along sandy beaches. The mild mediterranean climate energizes body, mind and soul all year round. Get to know a different Spain, away from mass tourism!

Isabella Welsch or another atha yoga teacher guides the group through a program, with carefully designed atha yoga-classes on an intermediate level. She teaches her own, modern blend of different styles. Many poses allow you to adjust to an easier or more challenging level. We need to know a bit about physical and psychological fitness of a participant: Please let us know ahead if you have any conditions.

Note: Classes are taught english and german.

Program/activities:

Start your day with a 2 hour yoga session, then you are well centered and in the right energy for the rest of the day. These yoga-series are harmonizing all constitutions! After the delicious brunch we set out for our excursions or we enjoy the nature that surrounds us. The coast is diverse and enchantingly beautiful – alternating between cliffs and sandy beaches.

There will be excursions on 3 afternoons. On 2 afternoons we will have a restorative yoga-practice and 1 afternoon will be off, so that you can decide spontaneously what to do, to relax, do sports or make an excursion to one of the towns nearby. By train you can reach Tarragona in 8 min., Reus in 30 min. and Barcelona in 60 min.

Five times a week, dinner will be served in Villa Isabel. Twice a week, you can try out one of the many restaurants nearby.

Arrival day:
From 15.00 onwards: Check-In

21.00: Introduction

Monday to Saturday mornings:

7.45: Morning hydration (with a small snack)
8.15-10.15: Yoga, including deep relaxation/meditation and breathing techniques
10.30: Brunch

Monday to Saturday afternoons (from 12.00 onwards):

3x excursions along the coast or inland. 2x restorative yoga-practice including breathing-exercises and meditation. One afternoon is off.
Schedules are subject to change according to weather.

Meals:
We offer high quality vegetarian  food, using local organic produce where possible. 1-2x / week you may choose fish and seafood. 5 times per week dinner in the seminar house is provided. Other 2 nights you are free to choose the place to have dinner, like a beach tavern or in the courtyard of the medieval castle.

Residence:
We have two places to accommodate participants: there are rooms in the Villa Isabel, which is a former residence and studio of the famous Catalan painter Josep Sala Llorens or in the family-run Hotel Yola near the beach. You may choose between single and double rooms as well as shared or private bathroom. Regardless of the accommodation, the meals are available to all participants in Villa Isabel, where the yoga room is located.

What to bring with you:

One week before the workshop starts we will send you a list of things to bring with you. We have enough yoga props in the house, including high quality yoga mats. If you tend to sweat during yoga, please bring your own yoga towel with you.

  1. Fill out the registration form and let us know which workshop you want to attend
  2. Wait till you receive the confirmation from our side that the workshop takes place and that there is a place for you available
  3. Transfer the money to the account that you find in the confirmation
