Seminary house Villa Isabel

The beautiful Villa Isabel is the former home and studio of the famous Catalan painter Josep Llorens Sala.

After being vacant for several years, the house was taken over by the Austrian yoga teacher and psychotherapist Isabella Welsch in 2017 and restored. Leaving as much as possible in the original state, the artistic atmosphere of the house was preserved. There are numerous, stylish furniture pieces of the painter in the villa, as well as some of his original works. These include the painting of the entrance gate and the staircase on the ground floor. Some of the artwork from the personal art collection of Josep Sala and paintings of various artists adorn the walls of the villa and guest rooms.

On the ground floor – through the main entrance – our private rooms, the winter kitchen, as well as the dining and the living rooms are located. Take the stairway up and you will find all of the bright guest rooms and a suite on the first floor, there’s also an access to a large terrace overlooking the main entrance and the pool at the end of the hallway.

Yoga and activity hall is located on the second floor and is adjacent to another sunny terrace.
There are bathrooms on every floor for everyone’s convenience.

Villa Isabel is surrounded by some 2200 m² large park-like garden with quite a diverse flora. From olive trees to tall mideterranean pines, flowers and lawns, it’s easy to find your favorite corner.

Summer cafe is also situated in the garden, where our staff prepares daily delicacies. The swimming pool is open during the summer season.

At the villa you can spend a lot of time outdoors, our garden offers recreation and opportunities for community as well as for retreat. So whether it is a quiet time in the hammock, in the shade of old olive trees or time with friends at the cafe, this villa offers a unique atmosphere.

The property sits somewhat hidden in town and yet everything is within a short walking distance: in about 10 minutes you will find the train station and the beach – a small fishing village, that is protected from further development, with cafes and restaurants.

Steps away is a medieval center of the village, with small streets and a nicely preserved historical center, the walls and houses that are centuries old and where the castle of Altafulla crowns the center at the highest point. Come see for yourself!
