A yoga workshop for men only? Yes, for a number of reasons: Today, throughout Europe women dominate yoga scene and many have tried yoga before and it did not suit some, because many yoga classes are automatically tailored a bit more to women and perhaps some would prefer yoga for men, that focuses on male physique. We offer an approach that is specific to “typical male” idiosyncrasies, such as more strength and less flexibility (compared to the majority of women). In addition to the physical aspect, this workshop also deals with techniques for better handling of pressure to perform and (social) stress at work and in private life.

Isabella Welsch and  teach according to the Atha Yoga approach, a well-thought-out, cross-school style based on the Indian system of the 5 elements and incorporating modern knowledge from the Western sciences.

Isabella Welsch or  Manfred della Schiava guides the group through a program, with carefully designed atha yoga-classes for men on an intermediate level. Atha Yoga is Isabella’s own, modern blend of different styles. Many poses allow you to adjust to an easier or more challenging level. We need to know a bit about physical and psychological fitness of a participant: Please let us know ahead if you have any conditions. Classes are taught english and german.

This workshop can be booked in the long form as a 7-day workshop (Sun to Sun), or in the short form either 4-day (Sun-Thu) or 3-day (Thu-Sun).

Arrival day:

Monday to Wednesday mornings:
7.45: Morning hydration (with a small snack)
8.15-10.15: Yoga and Fitness (on the beach and in the yoga room)
11.00: Brunch

Afternoons:
Mon and Tue: 15.30-18.30: stressmanagement and afternoon yoga
Wed: from 12.00 onwards: hiking to the natural bay Waikiki

Evenings:
18.45: Dinner
19.45-20.15: Sun set meditation on the beach

Thursday:
8.00: morning yoga
9.00: Breakfast
11.00: Check-Out and end of the 4-day workshop
15.00: Check-In for new participants
19.00: Dinner and start of the 3-day workshop
21.00: Introduction

Friday and Saturday mornings:
7.45: Morning hydration (with a small snack)

Meals:
We offer high quality vegetarian  food, using local organic produce where possible. 1-2x / week you may choose fish and seafood. 5 times per week dinner in the seminar house is provided. Other 2 nights you are free to choose the place to have dinner, like a beach tavern or in the courtyard of the medieval castle.

Residence:
We have two places to accommodate participants: there are rooms in the Villa Isabel, which is a former residence and studio of the famous Catalan painter Josep Sala Llorens or in the family-run Hotel Yola near the beach. You may choose between single and double rooms as well as shared or private bathroom. Regardless of the accommodation, the meals are available to all participants in Villa Isabel, where the yoga room is located.

What to bring with you:

One week before the workshop starts we will send you a list of things to bring with you. We have enough yoga props in the house, including high quality yoga mats. If you tend to sweat during yoga, please bring your own yoga towel with you.
