An extraordinary week for all food lovers that set to improve cooking skills and creativity. During this week we will prepare delicious meals in the Garden kitchen of the Villa Isabel. The course is held in english.
Our working area has a natural light and spills out into the garden, where we enjoy cooking and eating in the shade of olive trees. Spain is rich with materia prima so we use some of the best quality products available in the world. It is important to mention that we make our daily menu with a nutritional balance in mind, and it has to be noted, that we do not exclude any healthy ingredients for any reason other than allergies. That means that we will include all kinds of vegetables, grains, fruits, meats, poultry, fish and seafood.
Chef Gregory Rzyhkov will guide 2 to max. 5 participants through the program with carefully designed cooking classes, giving insights on how to prepare amazing food without recipies. We will use local, organic ingredients as far as possible.
This week you learn:
– Stocks (vegetable, mushroom, chicken, fish)
– Sauces and dressings (herbal, mayonnaise based, and oil based)
– Condiments (spices, vinegars, wines, beers, herbal flavorings and infusions)
Learn how to be guided by intuitiveness, experimentation and simplicity. By understanding how to put flavors together, you will be able to cook without sticking strictly to the recipes, be more flexible with the ingredients that are available where you live and be able to distinguish which ones suit your intentions.
In everyday life you will probably not spend as much time in the kitchen as when you prepare for a special occasion. Get to understand the difference between everyday food and festive meals.

After breakfast we will take a train to the nearby city of Tarragona, that counts with lots of historical roman sites. We will shop for food in the market of Tarragona and explore the city with its culinary offers.
Other activities and wellness:
The beautiful sandy beach of Altafulla is 10 minute walking distance away, where you can swim, do water sports or hike along the coast through natural pine forests.
Yoga classes and massage are available on request.
You will stay in the guest rooms of Villa Isabel that sits in a big, park-like garden with swimming pool. You may choose between single and double rooms as well as shared or private bathroom. In Villa Isabel we also have a big, fully equipped yoga room.

One week before the retreat starts we will send you a list of things to bring with you.
Info for yoga practicioners: We have enough yoga props in the house, including high quality yoga mats. If you tend to sweat during yoga, please bring your own yoga towel with you.
